Cromwell’s solitary header secured our first-ever victory against the table-toppers, narrowing the gap between us and them to just 4 points. Additionally, we have joined BUL and SC Villa level on points, totaling 40, thereby leapfrogging Vipers to claim the fourth position on the table.
The opening and sole goal of the game came from a well-weighed cross by the in-form Joseph Dhata at the far post, which was met by Cromwell’s guiding header. Kusiima had no chance of saving it for the visitors.

The first half was marked by intense action and several opportunities for both teams, but ultimately ended with a deadlock as neither side managed to break the deadlock.
Cromwel had the first clear chance of the game, but his effort was thwarted by the goalkeeper with a solid save. Ochan demonstrated his skills by denying Aheebwa in a one-on-one situation, keeping the score level. Moments later, Cromwel attempted a header, only to be denied again by Kusiima’s save.
Despite beautiful interplay in the final third, resulting in a corner for us, we couldn’t capitalize as the subsequent corner was cleared. Cromwel’s subsequent effort went over the bar, showcasing our intent to seize an early lead.
The boys continued to press for an opener, with Thembo forcing Kusiima into action with a shot straight into his hands. Ochan made another brilliant save following Omedi’s powerful strike froma freekick, keeping the visitors at bay.
Cromwel showed his attacking prowess once again as he set up Okocha before being fouled at the edge of the box, earning a free-kick and a yellow card for the opposition. However, Ssesaazi’s resulting free-kick sailed over the bar, denying us a chance to take the lead.
Kelvin came to our rescue with a crucial clearance to deny the visitors, but Cromwel’s subsequent attempts were unsuccessful, as the search for an opener continued. As the half drew to a close, Geliga required treatment after going down injured.
Despite having a free-kick opportunity with Odongo taking the shot, both attempts were blocked, leaving us frustrated as we headed into halftime with the score still locked at 0-0. With plenty of work awaiting us in the second half.

The second half saw significant changes in personnel and a surge in momentum, culminating in a thrilling victory for our team.
At the restart, Kimwero was introduced into the game, replacing Ibrahim Thembo. Shortly after, a forced substitution occurred as Kavuma Marvin came on for Geriga due to injury.
The breakthrough came in spectacular fashion as Cromwel scored a stunning header, connecting perfectly with Joseph Dhata’s beautiful cross. The stadium erupted in celebration as we took the lead.
Wahab entered the fray, replacing Ssesaazi, adding fresh legs to our midfield. Dhata continued to be influential, testing the opposition’s defense with an attempt that was blocked for a corner.
Cromwel unleashed a powerful shot, but it was met with an equally impressive save from the opposing goalkeeper Kusiima, denying us a chance to extend our lead.
Dhata’s involvement didn’t go unnoticed as he received a caution during the intense exchanges of the second half.
As the game entered the dying minutes, the referee signaled for 5 additional minutes of play, adding to the tension on the pitch.
Despite the pressure from the opponents, our defense held firm, securing a hard-fought victory that sparked jubilation among players and fans alike.

With a plethora of options available, Mugalu has rightfully earned starting rights only missing out the outing against Wakiso Giants due to suspension. His undeniable talent and impact on the field was marked with the man of the match accolade against Kitara on return to the matchday squad.
In our recent encounter against Kitara, Mugalu’s performance epitomized his resurgence. His exceptional display mirrored his rediscovered confidence and skill, offering a tantalizing glimpse of his potential. From his electrifying runs upfront to his mesmerizing dribbles and precise passes, Mugalu emerged as a constant threat to the opposition, keeping Kitara’s defense on their toes throughout the game.

Against Busoga United in the Stanbic Uganda Cup R16, Mugalu exhibited a masterclass in creativity, seamlessly driving the ball forward and orchestrating attacks with precision.
