Hailing from Kitgum, this talented defender has proven himself to be a force to be reckoned with on the field, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him don the NEC FC colours for the next two years.
Born on 1st February 1992, Owiny’s journey to success has been nothing short of remarkable. As the captain of Calvary FC in the FUFA Big League, he showcased his exceptional skills in 24 league games, scoring an impressive 6 goals from his central defensive position. His prowess as a goal-scoring defender has made him a valuable asset to his team and earned him the title of the second top scorer for Calvary FC.
Prior to his stint at Calvary, Owiny made waves at Ndejje during the 2021/22 FUFA Big League season, playing all 18 games and netting 3 crucial goals. His impact on the field helped Ndejje put up an impressive performance.
Owiny’s journey to the NEC FC family also includes a memorable stint with UPDF FC, where his defensive prowess played a vital role in helping the team return to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League. His leadership skills and commitment to excellence are evident from the moments he was at UPDF FC.
Not just a formidable club captain, Owiny has also proved his mettle on the regional stage. As the captain of Acholi Province in the FUFA Drum, he has led his team to glory in 2019, showcasing his ability to motivate and inspire his teammates to achieve greatness.
Off the field, Owiny’s interests go beyond the pitch. He finds joy in swimming, indulging in captivating movies, and delving into the world of literature through reading. These diverse interests reflect the well-rounded personality of a true athlete.
