In the heart of Kampala, a football prodigy was born on the 5th of August 2000. His name is Lubega Shalif, a young talent who hails from the historic neighborhood of Rubaga-Mengo. Today, we gather with joyous hearts to welcome him back to the NEC FC family after an impressive loan spell at CATDA FC.

Lubega Shalif’s journey with NEC FC began when he played an instrumental role in propelling the club to the FUFA Big League. His exceptional skills and leadership qualities caught the attention of many, but a commitment to captaining his university team, UCU, in the University League, meant he could not participate in the FUFA Big League with NEC FC.

Ever the team player, Lubega Shalif embraced the opportunity to hone his craft at CATDA FC in the competitive Kampala Region League. A key pillar in the defense, he played an integral part in leading CATDA FC to the Kampala Region playoffs, a testament to his dedication and impact on the pitch.

As he returns to NEC FC, the excitement is palpable among the fans and the entire team. His recall to the club comes with an extended contract, a reflection of the immense potential he possesses and the trust the club places in him.

Hailing from the esteemed Buganda Royal family and being a prominent member of the National Team Beach Soccer squad, Lubega Shalif is more than just a defender; he is a symbol of excellence and pride. His journey to success has been shaped by the exceptional coaching and mentorship he received at Go Lead Soccer Academy, an institution that molded him into the player he is today.

But perhaps, above all, it is Lubega Shalif’s unwavering passion for football that truly sets him apart. His love for the beautiful game fuels his drive to excel, to learn, and to give his all on the field. As he dons the NEC FC jersey once again, we do not doubt that his presence will be felt, not just in defense but also as a force in the attacking front.

Away from club football, Lubega Shalif carries the honor of captaining Buddu in the prestigious Masaza Cup tournament. Representing one’s county in the revered Buganda Kingdom competition is a testament to his leadership qualities and prowess on the field. In defense, he shields the goal with a tenacity, and when the opportunity arises, he isn’t afraid to join the offensive and even find the back of the net.

As NEC FC welcomes back Lubega Shalif, we do so with open arms and hearts filled with excitement. He has grown as a player during his time away, and we are eager to witness his growth as he continues his journey in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

To Lubega Shalif, we say: Welcome home, defender extraordinaire! Your return adds a new dimension to our defense and strengthens our resolve to make an impact in the upcoming season. With your passion, talent, and determination, we are poised for greatness.
