Two early goals in each half of the game by Ahimbisibwe Ivan saw us once again beaten from Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium – Wakisha, this time by URA, sabotaging our league ambitions.

Early goals:

We succumbed to two early goals in both halves of the game, scored by the same player, in an unacceptable manner. The first goal came in the 7th minute when a long through ball pierced through our defense and was well met by Ivan Ahimbisibwe. He shielded the ball against Kiyemba, dribbled into the area, and fired home, with Ochan Benjamin unable to save to give the home side the early lead.

Our efforts to equalize throughout the first half yielded no results as URA allowed us no space to cause damage. In the 18th minute, Ochan was once again called into action when he denied Ahimbisibwe in a one-on-one situation. Joseph Dhata executed a great free kick, but his powerful shot was matched with equal force by the goalkeeper, who sent it for a corner. Kelvin met the ball from the resultant corner but couldn’t get the right touch, sending it for a goal kick.

As the second half began, two changes were made, with Innocent Ramos replacing Kiyemba Ibrahim, while Thembo Ibrahim replaced Gadafi Wahab. Before we could even settle into our seats, a defensive mix-up from the substitutes gifted URA a chance, and Ahimbisibwe headed home to rob us of hope for a win in Wakisha.

Despite the introduction of Kavuma Marvin for Okocha, Kayanja Brian for Joseph Dhata, and Ssebaggala Enock for Mugalu Allan, the game ended in a 2-0 defeat on our second visit to Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakisha.

What it means:

We remain 5th on the table with 40 points, with just a goal as our goal difference was dealt a blow after conceding two goals without scoring.

What next:

Our focus shifts to second placed BUL in our next home game on 24th of April, 2024 at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.
