Paul Mucureezi’s 71st minute goal salvages a point for us against a stubborn URA to extent our lead at the table.

We proved our mettle, clinching a hard-fought draw against URA FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League in a match where we would have clinched The three points if we’re lethal enough in the final moments.

The match kicked off with us taking the game to URA, with Paul Mucureezi not wasting time to put URA’s keeper, Rogers Omedwa, to the test with a well executed shot inside five minutes. It was a great show of technique mastery in the way Mucureezi shot at Omedwa who equaled the effort and forced the ball into the corner.

We pushed hard for an opener but Omedwa and his defense dealt well with our efforts. In the 23rd minute URA got their goal after Godfrey Ssekibengo slotted home. This created an intensive half for us with difficulty to find spaces and create chances in during the rest of the first half.In the second half, we regained our footing and started taking the game to URA.

Paul Mucureezi found the net after a beautiful build up play from the right frank to bring us level.

The intensity of the game got aggressive. This saw midfield battles between Ssebaggala and Hudu Mulikyi fueled with the later getting a red card as the former was shown a yellow in a nasty tackle and retriation scenes at the centre arch. Ssebaggala was treated for a couple of minutes as Hudu ran off the pitch into the dressing room.

As the game entered its final stages, both teams had glorious chances to kill off the game but failed to convert. Mucureezi, had a clear shot in extra time, blocked which would have sealed this for us and continued our winning run.We remain top of the table with 23 points as we await results from other MatchDay 11 games.
