Tuesday, February 17, 2026, 8:00 PM EAT, St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende

As we gear up for a thrilling midweek clash under the lights at St. Mary’s Kitende, we head into enemy territory looking to build on our strong start to the second round. Fresh off a convincing 3-1 victory over KCCA FC, we’re eager to maintain our momentum against table-toppers Vipers. The Venoms, unbeaten this season and sitting pretty at the summit with 37 points from 15 games, will be a tough nut to crack on their home turf. But with our resilience and desire to turn this second round into a competitive round, we’re ready to rise to the challenge and potentially spring a surprise.

Vipers SC

The Venoms, have been the dominant force in the Uganda Premier League this campaign, boasting an impressive record of 11 wins, 4 draws, and no defeats. They’ve scored 33 goals while conceding just 8, showcasing a rock-solid defense and clinical attack. Abdu Karim Watambala’s form this season has kept the Kitende based side more clinical in the final third having already recorded 8 goals to his name.  However, their recent 1-1 draw against BUL FC shows they’re not invincible, especially if we can put up a decent performance.

Head-to-Head Record

Our encounters with Vipers have been fiercely competitive, with a mix of tight draws and high-scoring affairs. In the last five meetings, honors are even: two wins for Vipers, one for us, and two draws. Notably, our most recent clash in December 2025 ended 1-1 at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, where we held firm despite their pressure. Overall H2H stats: Vipers have scored 12 goals to our 6 in these games, but we’ve shown we can exploit their defense on our day.

Recent Form

NEC FC: WDWDW

We’ve bounced back impressively, with our 3-1 win over KCCA highlighting our attacking flair and defensive grit. Goals from Richard Basangwa, who netted a brace on debut have boosted confidence. We have gone six games without a loss in the League with the last one dating back to December.

Vipers SC: WWWWD

The Venoms are on fire, with their draw against BUL being a rare blip. Home advantage could see them push for all three points, but our resolve remains coming back with a positive result from Kitende.

 What the KB says

The boys put up a good performance in our last outing; however, we have analysed some areas to improve. We are not taken by the emotions of a single win, but we’re generally happy that the boys are beginning to pick up the lessons we’re giving them. It was rewarding to see that we scored more than one goal, because scoring has been a big concern for us. We are tutoring the boys, and they are picking up.

The game kick off at 8:00pm at St. Mary’s Stadium – Kitende.
