We return to the MTN Omondi Stadium – Lugogo, focusing on reclaiming the top spot on the table after slipping to second place with a draw in our last outing. Our aim is to record our first-ever win against the now bottom-placed Bright Stars.

Bright Stars was among the four teams we didn’t manage to beat at least once last season and remains the only one we haven’t played against, having already inflicted defeats on Vipers, SC Villa, and the then-stubborn Wakiso Giants.

In our first encounter last season, we played to a goalless draw before drawing 1-1 in Kavumba, where David Kiiza’s 90th-minute goal canceled out Kavuma’s, cutting off our title contention in the final bend of the 2023/2024 season.

Bright Stars’ Struggles:

At Kavumba, the 2024/25 season has been a struggle as the local club faces the harsh reality of relegation. Through 11 matches, they’ve clinched just one victory, drawing three times, while suffering seven defeats.

Their tally stands at a meager 6 points. Defensively, they’ve been porous, managing only one clean sheet and conceding twelve goals over ten games. Offensively, they’ve been equally challenged, failing to score in six matches.

The team’s performance paints a grim picture, with fans and players alike facing the harsh reality of an almost certain relegation.

Taking the opportunity by the neck:

We shall be looking to capitalize on the opportunity at hand to go to the top of the table this evening with a win against Bright Stars, having been slowed down in our quest for points with a draw against URA mid-week. However, being just one point behind the leaders, we aim to leapfrog them with maximum points at MTN Omondi Stadium this evening.
