We visit Mbale Heroes in a quest to keep the winning run going after bouncing back against Mbarara City with a 1-0 win, and also to keep up with the table leaders, who will be one point ahead, with a win this evening.

This will be the first time we meet in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, and we shall love to continue and complete the first round strongly with a win against the Heroes in Mbale.

Numbers behind Mbale Heroes

Mbale Heroes have collected only 9 points from 14 matches, winning only twice while drawing 3 times.

They have suffered 9 losses, conceding a record 24 goals while scoring only 6!

They have managed only 3 clean sheets, and haven’t managed to score more than once in any of the 6 matches where they scored.

Numbers behind NEC FC

On the other hand, we have had a better season compared to last season;

We have collected 30 points from a possible 42, after winning 9 games, drawing 3, and losing only 2 matches.

We have managed 18 goals while conceding 9 goals and have failed to score in a match on only 2 occasions, during our loss to Lugazi and in a goalless draw against Police FC.

We have the numbers in reverse order; 9 wins against their 9 losses, 2 losses against their 2 wins! We have both drawn thrice! This evening presents us a chance to go into double digits for our win tally!

Team News

Joseph Dhata, Kakomo Amir, and Thembo Ibrahim remain sidelined due to long-term injuries for the first two, while the latter is in recovery after suffering from a hamstring injury.

The rest of the squad is readily available for selection as we await to see who the head coach will name for this evening’s encounter.

What Coach Mbalangu says:

In a press conference ahead of today’s game, the head coach noted the importance of this game and the need for the team to keep focused.

“We know they have had a bad run, however, we cannot take that for granted, and we are preparing for a great Mbale Heroes team because there is no small team in the league.”
