Nec FC return to home action on Matchday 4 of the 2026/27 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season when they host URA FC at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, on Tuesday, September 15th, 2026.
The Diehards will be looking to make home advantage count as they seek maximum points in front of their supporters and maintain their unbeaten start to the campaign.
Nec FC head into the contest after securing a point on the road in their previous outing, playing out a goalless draw against Mbarara City FC in Kamwenge.
Despite creating several opportunities, the Diehards were unable to find the back of the net, ultimately settling for a share of the spoils. The result, however, extended Nec FC’s unbeaten run at the start of the new season.
With seven points from their opening three matches, Nec FC currently sit third on the league table, just two points behind the leading sides.
URA FC, meanwhile, will be making their return to league action after missing Matchday 3 due to Kitara FC’s continental engagement.
The Tax Collectors have collected three points from their opening two matches, with their only victory coming in their opening fixture. They currently sit ninth on the table with a game in hand.
They will arrive at Lugogo determined to get their campaign back on track, setting up another competitive encounter between the two sides.
TEAM NEWS
The Diehards have received a major boost ahead of the fixture with the return of forward Richard Basangwa, who missed the trip to Kamwenge through injury.
There is further positive news for Nec FC with long-term absentee Tonny Atukunda returning to full fitness. Atukunda missed the opening three matches due to injury but is now available for selection ahead of Tuesday’s contest.
However, the Diehards will remain without Fahad Bayo, who continues to recover from a muscle strain.
Defender Ibrahim Musa will also miss the game as he continues his rehabilitation from a knee injury involving a partial tear of the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL).
Hakim Wandera is another absentee, having travelled to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, with the Uganda U20 Men’s National Team for the CECAFA U20 Championship.
WHAT THE MANAGER SAID
“URA FC is a good team but we are prepared to play against them and we hope to put up a good show and the boys’ attitude exhibited is very okay ahead of the game.”
HEAD-TO-HEAD
Tuesday’s encounter will be the seventh meeting between Nec FC and URA FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
The Diehards have enjoyed the better record in the fixture, winning three of the previous meetings, drawing two and suffering just one defeat.
Last season, the two sides played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg before Nec FC secured a 1-0 victory in the return fixture at Lugogo.
With Nec FC unbeaten in their opening three matches and URA FC looking to make up for their game in hand, another closely contested encounter awaits at MTN Omondi Stadium.
