NEC FC are delighted to announce that captain Marvin Kavuma has signed a new five-year contract, committing his future to the club until 2031.

The experienced forward extends his stay with the Diehards after years of dedicated service, further strengthening the club’s ambitions for the future.

Kavuma has been at the heart of NEC FC’s remarkable journey from its formative years, playing a pivotal role both on and off the pitch. Since joining the club in its early days, he has captained the team through every major milestone, leading the Diehards from the Kampala Regional League to the FUFA Big League before guiding them into the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

His leadership has been instrumental in shaping the club’s identity, with one of the most historic achievements coming in 2025 when he captained NEC FC to qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup for the first time in the club’s history.

With more than 100 appearances in NEC FC colours, Kavuma has established himself as one of the club’s greatest servants. His new long-term deal ensures that the skipper will continue adding to his impressive tally while leading the team into an exciting new chapter.

Speaking to the club’s media after signing his new contract, Kavuma expressed his delight at extending his stay with the Diehards.

“NEC FC feels like home. I feel like I have a mother, a father, brothers and aunties. I have everyone I need in one place at NEC FC, and that’s why I decided to sign for five more years. Over the next five years, I want to win a trophy as captain and make my boss one of the proudest presidents in Ugandan club football.”

During the 2025/26 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season, the forward made 18 league appearances, featuring for 841 minutes as he continued to lead by example both on and off the field.

Everyone at NEC FC congratulates Marvin Kavuma on his new contract and looks forward to many more memorable moments with our captain as the Diehards continue striving for greater success together.
