NEC FC are delighted to announce the signing of talented young midfielder Enrique Lubwama, who joins the club on a four-year contract from fellow StarTimes Uganda Premier League side UPDF FC.
Lubwama arrives at the Diehards following a breakthrough 2025/26 campaign in which he established himself as one of the league’s brightest young talents. His outstanding performances throughout the season earned him the StarTimes Uganda Premier League Young Player of the Season award, underlining his status as one of Uganda’s most exciting emerging midfielders.
Despite his age, Lubwama has consistently displayed maturity beyond his years. Renowned for his composure in possession, technical ability, vision, and intelligence in midfield, he has impressed with his ability to dictate play and influence matches at the highest level of domestic football.
The midfielder’s football journey has been built on a strong foundation. He developed through the URA FC Junior Team before continuing his growth at Kiyinda Boys FC. He later joined UPDF FC, where his impressive performances accelerated his rise and attracted interest from across the league.
Now, Lubwama begins a new chapter with NEC FC as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The midfielder has already linked up with his new teammates for preseason training and has settled into Head Coach Badru Kaddu’s squad. He will be available for selection as the Diehards begin their 2026 FUFA Super 8 campaign against Entebbe UPPC FC on Sunday, 2nd August, at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.
