NEC Football Club’s vice-captain and reliable shot-stopper, Hannington Ssebwalunnyo, has been named the Fortebet Real Star Awards Star of the Month for April.
Ssebwalunnyo has been a true leader this season, captaining the side in the majority of games in the absence of Kavuma. His leadership on the field has been matched by his outstanding performances.
The goalkeeper not only kept clean sheets in all the matches he played during April, but he also stepped up impressively by scoring two beautiful goals.
This season, in 21 Uganda Premier League games, he has already kept eleven clean sheets. His brilliance continued in the Uganda Cup, where he featured in three matches without conceding a single goal.
Hannington edged SC Villa’s Frank Ssebbuufu and Maroons’ outstanding Ivan Mayanja to this accolade. Their numbers were simply impressive too, earning them a nomination for April.
With his calm authority, leadership, and exceptional goalkeeping, Hannington Ssebwalunnyo continues to shine as one of the most complete players at NEC Football Club and in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
