Two years ago, we welcomed Samson Kiirya to NEC FC with excitement, heralding the start of a new chapter for both the goalkeeper and our club https://necfcuganda.com/kirya-samson-joins-nec-fc-a-new-chapter-begins/

Today, NEC FC is thrilled to announce that our steadfast goalkeeper, Samson Kiirya, has signed a contract renewal for another year, extending his stay with the club after two remarkable seasons.

Since joining NEC two years ago, Samson has been a cornerstone of our goalkeeping department, which he describes as a “nuclear family” within the extended NEC FC family. His long-standing bond with fellow goalkeeper Hannington, forged during their Makerere University days, has created a dynamic partnership that pushes both to excel. With the constant support of our coaching staff, Samson has thrived, bringing stability and leadership to the squad. Off the pitch, his warmth and commitment—whether mentoring younger players or lending a hand with team tasks—embody the unity that defines NEC FC.

Samson’s decision to renew reflects his belief in the club’s ambitious vision. NEC is not content with merely competing against top sides in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League; our sights are set on continental success. With top-notch facilitation to the team and a clear plan to win trophies, Samson sees NEC as the perfect place to chase those dreams. His discipline and fitness, honed at the club, have also kept him in top form for the Uganda Sand Cranes, where he helped secure a third-place finish at AFCON 2022 Beach Soccer while also being available for numerous trips with the sand cranes.

As we look to the new season, with five different competitions; The FUFA Super 8, Super Cup, The StarTimes UPL, Stanbic Uganda Cup and our inaugural appearance at the CAF Confederation Cup, Samson’s goal mirrors the club’s: to reach the continental stage and establish NEC as a trophy-winning force for years to come.
