We were left to rue missed opportunities as we surrendered a two-goal lead in a disappointing 2-2 draw against Police FC at MTN Omondi Stadium. Mustafa Kizza’s early penalty and Joseph Dhata’s second half clinical header had us in firm control, but a late collapse; conceding twice in the final five minutes through Charles Bbale and Umar Kasumba’s penalty saw us share the spoils in a game we dominated for long spells.
Mbalangu made one change from the side that drew with URA before the international break, restoring Emmanuel Kulanga in place of Ibrahim Musa.
Joseph Dhata was felled in the box by Saidi Kyeyune, and Mustafa Kizza stepped up to slot the penalty coolly past Mathias Muwanga. 1-0, and the tone was set. Our attacking intent was relentless. On 20 minutes, Innocent Media spurned a golden chance to double the lead, his effort punched away by Muwanga. Six minutes later, Kimwero’s clever half-volley fed Kulanga, who danced past his markers but saw his strike gathered safely. We kept pressing.

Dhata’s effort was blocked on 39 minutes, with Kulanga’s follow-up deflected for a corner that came to nothing. Moments later, Kimwero’s header was caught comfortably, while Enock Seremba’s high pressing teed up Media, only for another block to deny us. The half’s sting came when Media limped off with a suspected hamstring issue, replaced by Emmanuel Ajo on 43 minutes.

We went into the break a goal up.
Second Half:
The second period began with a caution for Dhata on 48 minutes, a rare blemish in an otherwise commanding display. Mbalangu freshened things up, introducing Allan Mugalu for Kulanga on 54 minutes, and the move paid dividends. On the hour mark, Charles Waibi’s pinpoint cross found Dhata, who rose unchallenged to head home our second. 2-0, and we looked poised to cruise to victory. Dhata nearly added a third on 70 minutes, his strong effort tipped away by Muwanga.
We were in control, repelling Police’s tentative attacks with ease, their only real chance a wayward effort from Brian James Obedi early in the half. But as legs tired, cracks appeared. The tide turned on 85 minutes. Substitute Charles Bbale, barely on the pitch, curled a stunning strike from a freekick at the edge of the box into the bottom corner, catching our defense flat-footed. 2-1, and Police sensed blood.
We held firm until stoppage time, when Emmanuel Mugume went down softly in the box. The referee pointed to the spot, and Umar Kasumba converted with ice-cold precision to level it at 2-2. The final whistle followed, leaving us stunned.
What It Means
This was a game we should have won. Two goals up, chances aplenty, and control for 80 minutes—yet we leave with just a point. We remain winless, but there’s no time to dwell. The focus now shifts to our next challenge, where we’ll look to turn dominance into three points as we visit Entebbe PPC FC
Linqsoft Man of the match: Dhata Joseph

Joseph Dhata was a force of nature, earning the Linqsoft Man of the Match for a display that electrified MTN Omondi Stadium. From the first whistle, he was a whirlwind, tearing through Police’s defense with relentless energy. In the second minute, he surged into the box, his hunger forcing Saidi Kyeyune into a desperate foul to win the penalty that sparked our lead.
In the second half, he rose like a giant to meet Charles Waibi’s perfect cross, his header rocketing past Mathias Muwanga to make it 2-0. A deserved winner for the day.
