We advanced to the next round of the FUFA Super 8 on the away goals rule after tying with Express on aggregate. In our first encounter, as hosts, Express won narrowly with a 1-0 victory. However, our 2-1 win on Tuesday meant we were tied at 2-2 on aggregate. Having scored more goals away, we proceed to the next round.

Tuesday’s win ensures we cannot finish among the bottom four places, as those are reserved for teams that lose their first tie in the tournament.
In accordance with the revised fixtures, we will face the winner between URA and Kitara this coming Saturday at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, commonly known as the Slaughter House, with kick-off set for 7:00 PM local time. This encounter will be a single-leg match, with a draw leading to penalties.
What Happened:

The game opened with free-flowing play from the hosts, who created the first chance but failed to convert, as Hannington, with excellent game reading, dealt well with the ball.
We also pushed for an opener, displaying a livelier performance compared to the first tie. Despite a couple of chances created we didn’t convert early; one goal was ruled out for offside.
The breakthrough came when our flying right-back Atendele Geriga delivered a pinpoint cross from the right, met by the onrushing young star Emmanuel Kulanga, who powerfully headed home in the 28th minute to give us the lead.
Paul Mucureezi, cutting through the right into the box, had his shot blocked for a corner as we continued to pressure Express.

Captain Marvin Kavuma capitalized on defensive sloppiness from Express as their attempt to build from the back backfired. He dispossessed them before launching a shot into the far upper-right corner for our second goal. The first half ended with our 2-0 lead.
The second half saw Coach Mbalangu withdraw Geriga Atendele and Mustafa Kizza for Joseph Dhata and Gideon Odongo at the start. As the game progressed, Cromwell made way for Media, while Jarieko replaced Mucureezi, and Ajo came on for Kavuma.
Both sides searched for goals in the second half until Express, with a free-flowing move, scored a consolation goal in the 88th minute, which wasn’t enough to win the tie.
The Integration:

With many newcomers to Mbalangu’s squad, he appears to be finding pairings and testing partnerships. Buule continued with Okao in defence, while the newly signed Siraje Ssentamu partnered Joseph Sseremba in the middle of the park. Marvin Kavuma and Mucureezi started on the left and right franks, respectively, while Cromwell was given a leading role in search of goals upfront.
The team continues to take shape as we prepare for our CAF Confederation Cup match on September 20, 2025, at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo against Nairobi United.
What’s Next:
We will face the winner between URA and Kitara on Saturday, September 13, at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, with the match broadcast live on FUFA TV.
