NEC FC takes on Express FC this evening in our second appearance of the FUFA Super 8, coming off a strong second-place finish in the 2024/25 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season. Following the withdrawal of Vipers SC, who are on a preseason tour in Rwanda, we enter this edition as the highest-ranked team among the eight participants. This marks our first-ever Super 8 clash with Express FC, though we’ve faced off four times in league play, with each side securing two victories.

Here’s a look at the fresh faces at the club:

Kizza Mustafa joins on a two-year deal, bringing his expertise as a left-back with pinpoint crossing ability. A product of the KCCA Academy under legendary coach Mike Mutebi, Mustafa has honed his skills with stints at Montreal in the USA and in Portugal. His experience will be vital for the season ahead.

Media Innocent Ronald has signed a three-year contract after two years with Lucera Calcio in Italy. The former Arua Hill SC foward adds a wealth of experience to bolster our continental ambitions.

Sseremba Joseph and Waibi Charles arrive from Kigezi Homeboyz, where they played pivotal roles in securing their former club’s FUFA Big League status on the final day of the season. Their resilience and grit will be key additions to our squad.

Shabene Daniel, previously with Express FC, joins on a two-year deal to fortify our defensive midfield. The former Mbale Heroes standout, who helped them earn promotion to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, steps in to fill the void left by Ibrahim Thembo’s departure.

Titus Ssematimba, a dynamic attacking midfielder, joins from Kitara FC on a two-year deal. Having progressed from Black Stars in the Kampala Regional League to Wakiso Giants and a brief stint in the UAE, Ssematimba is set to replace Ssebaggala Enock, whose contract expired.

Muwanguzi Timothy arrives from Police FC on a two-year deal, adding depth and versatility to our roster. Warren Buule has been signed to strengthen our central defense, bringing stability to the backline.

Hudson Mbalire, a towering forward, joins on a three-year deal from Wakiso Giants. His standout performances in the Masaza Cup, Kyambogo University, and with the newly promoted CATDA FC in the FUFA Big League signal his potential to shine.

On the other hand, Allan Mugalu has penned down a 3 year contract extension, while Joseph Dhata after coming from recovery, has also been handed a similar contract time by the club. Geriga Atendele alike has signed a three year contract extension in a move by the club to further keep the keep players together at the club.

Samson Kiirya, has also signed a one year contract extension, keeping him at the clu until 2026 with no more additions to the goalkeeping department in this transfer window.

Our encounter against Express FC this evening will be live on FUFA TV with kick off set for 7PM from Hamz Stadium under the flood lights.
