NEC FC will be targeting maximum points when they take on Blacks Power FC in a Matchday 9 encounter of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at the Bukedea Comprehensive School Sports Complex on Saturday, 31st October 2026 with kick-off scheduled for 4:00 PM.

The Diehards head into the fixture in high spirits following an emphatic 5-1 victory over Ntugasaze FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, last time out.

The impressive result kept NEC FC in third place on the 18-team league table, taking their points tally to 17 from eight matches.

The Diehards have been in fine scoring form this season, finding the back of the net 17 times while conceding just five goals, giving them a healthy goal difference of +12.

With their attacking confidence boosted by the five-star display against Ntugasaze, NEC FC will be looking to maintain their momentum as they make the trip to Bukedea.

However, the diehards will face a resilient Blacks Power side that will be determined to frustrate the Diehards and protect their home advantage.

NEC FC’s attacking department will be tasked with finding a way past a disciplined Blacks Power backline as they seek another crucial victory in their pursuit of the league title.

On the other hand, Blacks Power FC come into the encounter following a goalless draw against SC Villa at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

The Eastern-based side currently sits seventh on the league table with 13 points from eight matches.

Blacks Power have scored nine goals and conceded 11, leaving them with a goal difference of -2.

Despite their relatively modest scoring record, the hosts will be keen to put up a strong defensive performance against NEC FC’s free-scoring attack while seeking to capitalise on opportunities of their own.

A victory for NEC FC would take the Diehards to the top of the Uganda Premier League standings, depending on the outcome of other fixtures.

Team News

NEC FC will continue to be without defender Warren Buule, who remains sidelined through injury.

Defender Mustafa Mujuzi has resumed light training but will not be available for the encounter as he continues his recovery.

Midfielder Pius Obuya also did not travel with the team due to injury.

The rest of the squad is fit and available for selection, giving the technical team several options as the Diehards prepare for the important fixture.
